I know I’m not the only one who has a hard time finding that perfect pair of high waist shorts, or any shorts for that matter. Their either too short, too long, too cheeky, too low,or not high enough, who’s with me? It’s a constant battle I tell ya! But with the new boyfriend trend on the rise, the low waist baggy and lose look has now become the new IT short, and it looks like finding a perfect pair of shorts may not be that much of a struggle..at least for some of us, but I gotta say regardless if it’s trending or not it’s always been the high waist look for me. High waist jeans, high waist skirts, and lastly the great high waist short. I just can’t seem to part from this look, I don’t know if it’s a comfort thing, or just simply how great I feel in this style. The high waist look can transition from casual to dressed up, especially when you compare it to the lose and baggier boyfriend style, which really only allows you to take a more casual approach.
This particular pair of shorts is one of my favorites, mostly because they were my little DIY project. I bought them at a vintage shop and believe it or not they were a pair of non flattering baggy mom jeans by LEE, lets just say they were true vintage denim. I immediately fell in love with the unusual shade of blue, I mean its tough enough finding that great fit let alone that great fit in the right color. This light blue shade is perfect for spring and summer, the time when we put aside our darks and get those baby blues and whites out. So I guess now you can all understand why I nabbed this pair as soon as I saw them, even if they were just a pair of mom jeans, the point is I saw potential. Not only do you get to customize your rips and tears, but you get to customize your desired length! Goodbye to too cheeky, too short, or too long! And hello perfect pair! I know one things for sure this will definitely be a high waist summer for me!
I styled my look with a camouflage graphic print tee, and paired it with a black pair of Jeffery Campbell boots to give it that extra something. Finished it with a simple watch and gold bracelet and added my favorite black fringe leather bag with a gold chain strap to complete the look.
